The Science Center of Iowa (SCI) knows a thing or two about the upcycling process.

The Des Moines-based museum successfully saved over 1,000 sq ft of old materials from landfills while generating revenue for their A-Ha! museum store. Not only did they give their banners a new life, but they also reduced the total carbon footprint of their new products by dropping off the banners at Relan’s facility during an already-scheduled trip.

From robots to the Grand Canyon, the products created feature vibrant images of their past exhibits, providing visitors with one-of-a-kind gifts to take home.

Relan turned our old banners, which are iconic exhibits into bags that people can carry with them and take the experience home. The product quality is great and they have been a pleasure to work with.

SCI made these products with their old exhibit banners:

If you’re in Des Moines, stop by the A-Ha! store and check out the products for yourself!
